## What is inside this free 11+ cube nets worksheet?

The PDF teaches cube nets with a cut-and-fold model, then moves into original [11+ non-verbal reasoning](https://pip11plus.com/non-verbal-reasoning-questions) cube-view questions with worked answers.

**Quick answer:** A cube net is six edge-connected squares laid flat so they can fold into the six faces of a cube. The worksheet shows how to test the fold, find opposite faces and rule out impossible or mirrored cube views.

MAKE IT REAL

### Cut out a net.

Fold your own cube.

The hands-on model lets your child check which faces meet, which sit opposite, and why a tempting wrong answer cannot work.

**01**

### See the fold

Clear diagrams explain how six flat squares become six cube faces.

**02**

### Test real and false nets

Compare shapes that fold cleanly with shapes that collide or overlap.

**03**

### Solve eight questions

Original A to D cube-view questions turn the idea into 11+ practice.

**04**

### Understand the answers

Worked explanations show why each answer is right, not just the letter.

## How to solve 11+ cube nets and folding questions

Count the six faces, picture each square folding onto a different side, then use opposite faces to eliminate impossible cube views. Check the order of the three faces around a corner too, because a mirror image is not the same as a rotation.

**01**

#### Count six

A cube has six faces. A missing or extra square rules the shape out.

**02**

#### Fold in your mind

Every square must reach a different face without overlapping.

**03**

#### Check opposites

Opposite faces cannot appear together at the same corner.

### Worked example: which faces are opposite?

In the illustrated net, A, B, C and D form a strip, with E above B and F below B. When it folds, A faces C, B faces D, and E faces F.

An answer showing an opposite pair at one visible corner cannot be right. After that elimination, check the remaining faces in order so a mirrored cube does not slip through.

A faces C B faces D E faces F

## Cube nets worksheet: questions and answers

Use the PDF as an untimed learning activity first. Once your child can explain why a cube view works or fails, try the wider [11+ spatial reasoning guide](https://pip11plus.com/11-plus-spatial-reasoning) or a full [non-verbal reasoning practice paper](https://pip11plus.com/11-plus-non-verbal-reasoning-papers).

**What is a cube net?**

A cube net is a flat arrangement of six connected squares that can fold into the six faces of a cube.

**How can I tell whether a net makes a cube?**

Check for six edge-connected squares, then picture each square folding onto a different face: top, bottom, front, back, left and right. If two squares would land on the same face, the net cannot make a cube.

**How do you find opposite faces on a cube net?**

Two squares separated by one square in a straight line fold to opposite faces. In the example above, A faces C, B faces D, and E faces F, so those pairs cannot meet at a visible corner.

**Are cube nets and cube rotation the same type of 11+ question?**

No: cube-net questions start with six connected squares laid flat and ask you to picture the folded cube. [Cube-rotation questions](https://pip11plus.com/11-plus-cube-rotation) start with a 3D shape and ask whether another view shows the same object turned rather than reflected.

**Is Pip's 11+ cube nets worksheet free?**

Yes, the ten-page A4 PDF is free to download without an email address. It includes teaching, a cut-and-fold model, practice questions and worked answers.

**Can I download 11+ non-verbal reasoning cube net questions as a PDF?**

Yes, this free ten-page PDF includes eight original 11+ non-verbal reasoning cube-view questions, a cut-and-fold activity and worked answers. Download it without an email address.

**How can my child practise cube nets after the worksheet?**

Pip's free 11+ Non-Verbal Reasoning practice includes repeatable cube-net questions and answer feedback. Pip Pro adds interactive Pip Teaches lessons.
