The two reasoning examples are for the older GL route; they do not represent the new FSCE Compass paper. English Task 1 of 4 ### “The invitation lay untouched for days. This morning, Ada finally reached for a pen.” What change is suggested? Reaching for a pen after leaving the invitation untouched suggests she is ready to respond. We are not told what her response will be. Maths Task 2 of 4 ### Three bags contain 4.5 kg of flour altogether. Each bag contains the same amount. How many grams are in one bag? 4.5 kg is 4,500 g. Divide by three bags to get 1,500 g per bag. Verbal reasoning Task 3 of 4 ### Which word completes this analogy? thermometer : temperature :: ruler : \_\_\_ A thermometer measures temperature; a ruler measures length.
