# Free 11+ Verbal Reasoning Questions With Answers

Pip gives your child free 11+ verbal reasoning questions online, marked the moment they answer, with the rule behind each answer explained step by step. It suits children aged 7 to 11 in Years 3 to 6.

## What the verbal reasoning questions cover

- **Synonyms and antonyms:** the word closest in meaning, or the true opposite.
- **Letter codes:** cracking a pattern and using it to code a new word.
- **Letter sequences:** continuing a run of letters that follows a rule.
- **Odd one out:** spotting the word that does not share the group's link.
- **Hidden words:** finding a word tucked across two others.
- **Analogies:** completing a pair that works the same way as another.
- **Number logic:** applying the same rules to number and letter puzzles.

These are seven of the main families, and our guide to [what verbal reasoning is](https://pip11plus.com/what-is-verbal-reasoning) has a live example of all 21 types.

## How marking works

Every answer is marked straight away, and Pip shows how the rule works so your child can use it on the next question. Each question type has its own Pip Score from 0 to 100. Right answers move it up, wrong answers move it down, and the score decides how hard the next question is. A skill counts as mastered at 90. If your child answers very fast and slips, Pip suggests slowing down and checking rather than making the questions easier. Read more about [how the Pip Score works](https://pip11plus.com/pip-score).
