- Number bonds and mental arithmetic
Real examples from the game:
Levels and difficulty
Levels 1 and 2 are adding only, levels 3 and 4 add multiplying, and from level 5 factors join in. From level 8 all four rules mix, and new rows push up faster each level.
Power blocks such as the divide bomb and times laser arrive from level 2.
Pip moves your child up when they are ready and eases off when they struggle. Each run is short and focused, so it fits before school or homework.
Every level, in the free Pip app
Number Smash is part of Pip Pro in the app, with every level and saved progress.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Look for the biggest number first, then find what it needs to reach the target.
- Talk through two ways to make 24, such as 3 × 8 and 4 × 6, before a multiply level.
- The classic Make 24 card game is a good table-top follow-up.
