If you're looking for an 11 plus app that keeps kids engaged and actually learning this is it. I gave this to my son and was surprised to see not only did he pick up on the new question types but he is learning and progressing through the different difficulties.

Pro offers some fun additions like 3D spatial reasoning that honestly I haven't seen in any app yet, well worth it especially compared to some competitors what you get for the annual fee. 5*

Is Pip really free?+

Yes. Pip is free to download and use, with no ads and no account required for local learning. Unlimited daily practice stays free forever. There is an optional Pip Pro subscription that adds timed mock exams and an optional parent dashboard, but everyday practice is always free.

How is Pip different from 11+ practice papers?+

Practice papers are great for timed mock conditions, but kids memorise the answers. Pip generates fresh questions in the style of the UK 11+ exam every time, so practice never goes stale. Use Pip for daily 5-minute sessions and papers for full mock exams, they complement each other.

Does Pip match the style of the 11+ exam?+

Yes. Pip's question types mirror the formats used by most UK grammar schools: multiple choice, numeric entry, drag-to-order and tap-all-that-apply. Every question is original and procedurally generated. We do not reproduce any copyrighted exam content.

Does Pip cover mixed-topic questions?+

The core skills (vocabulary, comprehension, problem solving and Non-Verbal Reasoning) are covered. A mixed mode that combines more topics into a single question is coming in v1.1.

What year groups is Pip for?+

Year 4 (a year early), Year 5 (the main prep year) and Year 6 (last-minute revision). Pip's adaptive difficulty means it works for every level, easier questions until the SmartScore climbs, then harder ones.

Can my child use Pip without me supervising?+

Yes, that's the design. The app has zero outbound links in the kid view, no ads, no chat, no social features. Sessions are short and self-contained. Settings and future progress reports sit behind a parental gate.

Do I need a parent account for Pro?+

No. Pro works on the purchasing device without one. A Pro user may optionally create a parent account in the app for eligible family Pro access on another device and a dashboard of uploaded practice summaries at pip11plus.com. Full local learning progress does not move between devices through the account.

Does Pip replace an 11+ tutor?+

No, but it's a brilliant complement. Tutors are great for teaching new concepts and exam technique. Pip handles the daily reps. Most parents find an hour a week with a tutor plus five minutes daily on Pip is a strong combination.
