How to use Medway Test practice papers effectively
- Plan for three papers: English, maths and reasoning. Medway’s current test no longer uses the old extended-writing paper.
- Use 30 minutes for a full English practice block and 50 for maths when your child is ready. Those published durations exclude instructions and practice questions.
- For reasoning, rehearse changing tasks when told. The 45-minute test includes four spatial/non-verbal timed sections and one verbal section.
- Review punctuation errors by reading the sentence aloud and naming the speaker’s exact words. For elapsed time, use a number line before relying on mental subtraction.
