Spelling games

Word Mine turns spelling into digging, with clues from definitions, synonyms and sentences. Layers get harder, from double letters to silent letters and ough.

Grammar and SPaG games

Three games practise grammar and punctuation by doing, not by reading rules. They match what the KS2 SATs grammar paper tests.

Literacy games KS2 children can use at home and in class

Literacy games for kids work best when they are short and focused on one skill. Use one game a day as a warm-up before reading or homework.

In class, put a demo on the whiteboard and let the room vote on each answer. Reading games KS2 teachers like most are the ones that spark talk about why an answer is right.
