Free Edgbaston sitting
11 Plus Mocks advertises a free GL-style sitting on at the Apollo Hotel for children who started Year 5 in September 2026.
All three times were marked full on 26 September 2026. Its waiting list was open; check the provider for any newly released place.
Print Pip's original GL-style sample and mark it with your child at home. It helps reveal a topic to practise, but it cannot recreate an unfamiliar exam hall or produce a standardised score.
Prep11Plus and KSOL advertised Birmingham-area in-person mocks for 2026, but neither had a 2027 schedule on the pages we checked. Check Prep11Plus or check KSOL for a new cycle rather than relying on last year's dates.

Two papers
Each lasts approximately 50 to 60 minutes, including instructions and examples, with a short comfort break between them.

Four skill areas
English comprehension, verbal reasoning, mathematics and non-verbal or spatial reasoning appear in individually timed sections.

Audio-paced sections
Children work only in the current section; they cannot go back or work ahead until instructed.

Separate answer sheet
Answers are multiple choice and recorded separately. A child should practise transferring each choice to the correct row.

Are there free 11+ mock exams in Birmingham?
11 Plus Mocks advertises a free in-person Birmingham mock on 10 January 2027 for children who started Year 5 in September 2026. Its three sittings were marked sold out when we checked on 26 September 2026, but a waiting list was open.

How much does an in-person Birmingham 11+ mock exam cost?

Is the Birmingham 11+ test GL or CEM?
The West Midlands Grammar Schools entrance test is provided by GL Assessment. It has two papers of approximately 50 to 60 minutes each, with individually timed sections covering English comprehension, verbal reasoning, mathematics and non-verbal or spatial reasoning.
Answers are multiple choice on a separate answer sheet.
Can the Pip app replace an in-person 11+ mock exam?
